conference, I knew I wanted a way to reach out and be more collaborative with
others bloggers, but I just needed a good theme idea- and some time to figure it all out. My friend Lauralee over
at The Language Arts Classroom does a secondary linky every Sunday. That is a big commitment, and I’m super
thankful she does it. I’m going to follow her inspiration, but try something
once a month. I’m pretty excited about
my concept: The last Friday of every month, I’ll post 5 highlights from that
month. Other bloggers, who want to join in on the Friday Flashback fun, can write a
similar post and link up or just link up a highlight from that month you want
to share. I’m totally flexible, so it can work with your style!
It Snow: We’ve had 7 snow days this month – probably not great for my students’ state writing test prep
or ACT next week, but it was great for some family time with my nieces, my
to-do list, my laundry pile, and my photography hobby! We’ve played board games, had snowball
fights, and I took tons of pictures around the farm. Currently, we have about 5 inches on the
ground, and it is beautiful.
7 snow days this month, I had taken up a stack of junior argumentative essays
to grade before the snow hit, thankfully. Well, I guess that is a good thing
that depending on what perspective you take! Anyhow, I was actually very
pleased with the results. We are on a
block schedule, so I only get about 1 month to prepare my students for the
state writing text they take in February where they write both an argumentative
and explanatory essay in 2 hours. They
did a great job of soaking the information in quickly and writing a paper; that
was actually one stack of papers I didn’t mind reading. I’ll be posting that prompt and some mentor papers
in my store eventually.
stand-out event from February is that we found out my doggie had cancer. Thankfully
my husband noticed the spot early and we took him to the vet immediately. He had surgery, and is now bouncing around in
some major coding hurdles in my TpT store and added a cute new header to
welcome visitors into my store! I wanted it to have a little bit of a vintage
flair and still do the job of introducing what my store is all about!
next highlight from February – I created my first set of hand-drawn clip art
and uploaded it to my store. I’ve been making borders for my resources from my photography,
but I’ve never hand-drawn anything! I took a snow day this week and gave
it a try. They turned out really cute. I used some on
one of my resources, this linky button, and my TpT cover, so I uploaded a few
to my store!
Here’s how to link up:
it to the top of your blog post.)

– If you want to link up next month, just watch for my post near the end of the month!
